However, if you are looking for an excellent place to stay with gracious hosts and family, then this is a perfect spot in Tanabe. We stayed here on 10/24-25 to hike Kumano Kodo trail. Koushi and Chiyoko were extremely gracious hosts and treated us like family while we were there. They went "beyond the call of duty" to help us in finding a lost jacket left on the train and they made sure we were safe all along the way. ...

"I stayed for three nights. The hotel is clean and well ventilated. I was lucky enough to have a large and quiet room. The owner is very friendly and doesn't bother guests. "We thought the staff were so accommodating. Nothing was a problem. We asked to cancel our Japanese breakfast and they applied the cost as a credit toward our dinner meal, which was excellent. Provided an extra pillow and always had fresh towels for the onsen. They also helped with directions to various places we visited. Beautiful view of the river from where you sit in the onsen.
