The Desoto was the absolute worst hotel experience we ever had. Let’s start at the beginning. My husband and I were in town for a concert. We arrived around 4:30 pm and being that it was a Friday, a ton of traffic, Valentine’s Day and a holiday weekend we decided to do valet instead of trying to find a parking garage. The guy who helped us told us his name was “Zee”. We gave him a fairly large tip and hoped my car was in good hands. The lobby was pretty but check in was the beginning of aggravation. Raven helped us and she was awful. The ONLY thing we requested was a room away from the elevator. Where does she put us? Right next to the elevator! The door to our room looked like a storage closet. Upon entering the room, we booked a king bed only to receive a queen size bed. Raven insisted it was a king. It wasn’t. We own a king bed, she wasn’t fooling us. Our floor smelled heavily of weed, and the guests above us sounded like they were bowling. We checked out 7 hours later. Security guard on duty was USELESS. She was on her phone the entire time we saw her. Now let’s get back to the valet. ONE girl working the valet on a Friday night on Valentines Day. Took forever to get my car keys back and were shown where my car was. ZEE needs to be fired. He decided to take a joyride in my vehicle, messed with my seat adjustments, the seat head rest, and connected his phone to my apple car play while using my phone charged. Are you serious? This is valet service, not playtime.

Excellent hotel in the heart of historic district. Rooms are clean and very nice. Staff is very friendly and provides suggestions for areas to see. Recommend staying here.

Beautiful hotel! I was there for a SEASECS conference, and while busy, it was also very nice. My only real complaint is that there were more than a few times during the day, when I came down to the front desk to ask for something. Most of the staff were extremely pleasant. However, there were two women at the desk, who were not helping anyone. I stood there for more than minutes before even being acknowledged. I observed these same two girls doing this same thing to other people as well. They were too busy on their phones. They were the only ones who didn't display an extraordinary amount of empathy, or kindness. Their answers were short and sharp, not just to me, but to everyone. I had come down for a "DND" sign for my door and (after waiting for more than 5 minutes) was perfunctorily told that they didn't have any. No eye contact. No smile. I felt as though I was an inconvenience. Either way, the stay was fantastic, and aside from those two girls (and I don't want to describe them--we all have bad days!), the staff was extraordinarily amazing. I wont let two girls who clearly don't care about their job at such a prestigious hotel keep me from staying again, nor from recommending it to others! I can't wait to come back!

Fabulous space for a meeting with great balcony rooms. The beds are super comfortable with pillows that feel like down. Easy to walk most anywhere in the area; great meals nearby.

Overall the property was nice! Very gorgeous place, the front desk could’ve been a bit more informative and welcoming upon arrival & we booked a balcony room but the balcony door was nailed shut and looked awful! We moved rooms to an accessible balcony which was nice. I just find the amenities to be very dated along with the rooms. Would stay again but definitely would like to see this gem get some TLC.

We loved the location and most of the staff was terrific. Housekeeping was good though several times missed restocking items. The restaurant is wonderful and reasonably priced. We heard they are getting ready for renovations, and may be letting some minor things slide in the meantime. WiFi is unsecure so don't plan on working, or safely connecting any devices with personal or financial info.

My husband and I loved the location and how convenient it was to walk down to the river and the Enmarket Arena which was the reason we were in Savannah. Lots of food options around. The hotel was clean and the staff were extremely friendly and personable, especially the valet staff. Loved them! The only issue we had - the outlets in our room didn’t work and even if they did work, they were so loose they couldn’t hold a phone or laptop charger properly.
