"This property has a great location but doesn't mean that cleaniness should be sacrificed. This is an old building but it doesn't mean that the apartment shouldn't be up kept. The paint, the furniture, the sinks in the bathroom and kitchen, the toilet were all old and dirty. There was even a roach walking on the shower curtain. I've stayed at many small old apartments in many apartments but never like this one."

"The apartment needs serious updates if not a complete renovation. The microwave plug doesn’t reach the outlet. The kitchen cookware is rusty and bent. We found a dead roach in a tea cup. Black mold in the shower. The drawers in the bedroom were broken. A light bulb was missing and another one was burnt out. They left one toilet paper roll for a two week stay. "Great location, good apartments. However, some need better maintenance. We had to switch apartments because the fuse in the first one blew when two showers were used at the same time. Lack of communication led us to have a car in the garage while work was done in it and we were told we could not leave with the vehicle as it would damage the work. "This is my second time staying here. It is clean, pleasant, and reasonably priced. Most appreciate that it is in the touristy area of Santa Teresa and near LAPA. That is nice too. There's also a great view of the center from most rooms. My only minus, which isn't tied to the place, is that if you're out late, it can be difficult to get an uber up into the steep hills of Santa Teresa. Most taxis will though."

"I cant say enough good things about this place and the customer service that i received. The pictures show exactly how the place look. Its sparkling clean, really comfortable and quiet. The kitchen is fully equipped with all you need. Now i wont look any further any time i have a trip to Rio. Another plus for this property is the doorman: they are also amazing and really helpful. I never been so happy to stay in a property like i was at this one. For sure i will be booking again."

"My husband and I had a fantastic stay at the Rio Othon Palace! The breakfast was absolutely delightful, with plenty of options and a gorgeous view to start the day. The staff was very pleasant and went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable experience — their hospitality really stood out. If you’re booking a room, I highly recommend choosing an oceanfront view — waking up to the sight of Copacabana Beach is an experience you won’t forget. The renovated rooms on the higher floors are definitely worth it; they’re modern, comfortable, and offer the best views. The pool area is beautiful, though it’s on the smaller side and fills up quickly, especially given the size of the hotel. During peak hours, particularly around breakfast, the elevators can get busy, so factor in a little extra time to get around the hotel. Overall, this is a fantastic place to stay in Rio de Janeiro, combining comfort, location, and stunning views. The pleasant and attentive staff made the experience even better. I would stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Rio!"

"Great Hotel! It's clean, organized, and convenient. The hotel is close to Copacabana and Ipanema Beach. Also, the hotel has a mall within walking distance. The only thing to keep in mind is if you are planning on going on a tour, the companies won't pick you up at this hotel. "
