The outside and general area is not very inviting but once inside everyone was friendly and helpful. Everything was clean and tidy and the room (415) was spacious with all that was promised. The only issue with the room was the movement activated entrance hall light which illuminated every time the bathroom was visited. Annoying in the middle of the night. The hotel is well located for the historic area and most key sites were within walking distance. The breakfast was very nice and quite Costa Rican although the choice was not large. Fine for a few days stay. I would recommend this hotel for a short downtown stay.

Very good central location , easy access to center ave, national theater , gold museum and cathedral etc, central market is 5 blocks away . Breakfast is simple but sufficient. Very spacious suite and with big wash room and living room . The bed comforter can be improved, so thick and so heavy, hard to maneuver

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good, and so convenient having it in the hotel. Central location providing walking distance access to many San Jose highlights. The room was a bit dark, as a few of the lights weren’t working. We notified the front desk, so hopefully will be much improved for the next guests. There was a great sitting area outside our rooms for the group to gather and discuss plans etc. Very much appreciated!

This hotel was great, hence the 5star ratings I gave,front desk staff very friendly, the room was huge, breakfast was great, parking onsite, only fits so many cars, we got lucky, only thing was the area… We only spent one night, and checked in at night, but driving to hotel the area did not look good, the next morning we got up early to drive to the half marathon and my husband was running and it was well pretty shady, so I was glad we didn’t venture out the night before but if you only need a place for one night or in and out of town, the place was great, they even had a steam room, which I definitely used

Nice location. Excellent staff. V nice breakfast for the price :) Room caught a lot of outside noise… a little foam rubber around the windows would b v helpful ( and cost almost nothing ;)

The customer service was exceptional. Every employee was very friendly and helpful. The facilities are a little odd and you almost feel like you’re in a hostel. No chair to sit on in your room for example. No coffee in your room. I take care of my hair bag up stairs. Overall, I would go there again. Just don’t expect a five star experience.

We rented a deluxe suit which has a huge living room with 20ft ceiling and a kitchen and a huge bedroom with two queen size beds: also, a good size bathroom with two sinks. The place is quiet since where is located, in the after hours, the whole area is disserted. That's the good about this place. On the other hand, the kitchen has a microwave and a full induction cooktop and a small fridge but have zero plates, silvers, pots and pans, knifes or cutting board. So it is a useless kitchen unless you bring your own cooking utensils, plates and silvers. The bathroom has two vanity mirrors but only one out of four of the lights on top of the mirror works. The hotel is very dated, the gym so stuff that you don't really want to stay there. The breakfast is lousy, but it is better than nothing.

The rooms were huge—much bigger than shown in the photos. Our suite was two levels with 1.5 bathrooms. The casino nightclub was noisy. The location is very convenient for walking to museums. The street was hectic but we felt safe walking around. The woman serving breakfasts was lovely.
