An adorable little spot with tons of history. The room was comfortable and clean and the staff was phenomenal, giving great local restaurant recommendations and going above and beyond to assist us. Highly recommended!

Alajuela guest house never disappoints us! Perfect for a night before or after air travel, just a 5 minute cab ride to the airport, and their desk is staffed 24/7. Love the historic charm of the building and the efficient rooms. Good breakfast and very helpful before our stay at setting us up a private, very reasonably priced tour of Poas volcano and waterfalls, coffee farm. Will keep returning here on our way in and out of San Jose airport!

There’s several things to consider before booking this Hotel , this is not only a hotel it also runs like a Hostel , so if you don’t look very well in the description of the rooms , some of there rooms don’t have a private bathroom and no Tv , so it was a surprise for me because I thought I was booking a hotel, it’s very important for people that want to stay there to be very sure what room is that you are getting, also there’s no parking at the property you have to look for a parking place and pay , but it’s around the corner which is the positive side, the place is clean but if your looking for a nice place that’s quiet and have no hassles I don’t recommend staying in this Hotel/ Hostel , description of the amenities is not accurate, it is convenient the area because you can walk to restaurants and places

Great option for a Costa Rican small hotel near the airport. Restaurants and shopping nearby and very friendly service from the desk manager. Also a very early breakfast was served for us as we had an early flight.

This lovely family run vintage hotel is just minutes from the airport by taxi. The staff are super friendly and helpful, eager to provide any service they can. It is like staying with friends. Don’t expect air con, you won’t need it anyway, do expect a delightful breakfast, delicious coffee, comfortable beds, and smiles and courtesy from everyone who works there.

I chose this hotel for its location. I only stayed for one night, however if I ever plan a few days in the city this is where I will stay. The property is really lovely. The historic house is a unique stand alone property that is a stand out in it's location. The staff is phenomenal and so was the food! The ambiance and cleanliness were excellent. You can get fresh coffee at 6 am and the cook shows up to prepare your desayuno fresh around 7.... Thank you Dudley, Diego and the beautiful cook in the kitchen. I'm sorry I forgot to get your name. I'll see you next time!

El hotel estaba muy bien en cuanto a áreas comunes, espacio en las habitaciones, limpieza en general y amabilidad del staff. Como nos ibamos muy pronto en la mañana, nos hicieron un desayuno rapido, ya que lo teniamos incluido, con fruta natural, cafe y pan de banano. Reservamos este alojamiento porque estaba en el centro de la ciudad de Alajuela y muy cerca del aeropuerto internacional SJO. Alrededor hay bastante sitios para comer/cenar y en el propio hotel te hacen recomendaciones. Lo único que mejorariamos es que tuviera parking propio ya que en la entrada principal esta directamente la carretera y no se puede dejar estacionado ahi el coche. Cerca hay parking de pago con bastantes espacios y vigilados. Nos costo una noche: 7$.
