"Amazing stay with amazing staff, Clean and safe! Delicious food. Always place to eat at the restaurant. Excellent service. The pool was amazing! The road to get there is a bit bumpy (for the rental car) and the beach/river looks nice but the kids didn’t want to spend time there. "

Gaia Riverlodge

3.5 star property
9.8 out of 10, Exceptional, (188)
"Gaia was a wonderful place to enjoy the jungle side of Belize. The staff was very responsive and assisted me with transfer from Belize City and back. There was an extra charge for this service. Check in was a breeze and the rooms are very comfortable. Hector at the front desk made arrangements for tours and
spa
and transportation, Freddy and Demor and Darren were perfect servers and went above and beyond! The resort is lucky to have them. The space down by the waterfall for sunning, dining and...

3.0 star property
10.0 out of 10, Exceptional, (89)
"This is a very special property in the jungle. The food prepared at the restaurant was superb. There was a lovely infinity pool that we were able to enjoy. (Temps were in the mid-90s) We stayed in one of the treehouses and loved it. Very well appointed. Pretty pathways throughout the property. Be sure to visit the green iguana rescue in San Ignacio. The property's location is handy for Mayan ruins and cave tours. Love this place."

"The property was well kept and serene. The rooms were extremely clean and decorated with fresh flowers upon arrival (very nice touch). The body scrub and soaps provided gave a
spa
-like feeling to the experience. The splash pool with fountain feature was very nice to enjoy on the warm afternoons. Being on the deck overlooking the river and wildlife from water with a cocktail was a daily ritual while we were there. Only downside is the lack of air-conditioning, which did not bother us the...

The Maya Mountain Lodge

3.0 star property
9.6 out of 10, Exceptional, (178)
"The front desk was extra helpful in arranging transportation to outings and to the airport. They are very service oriented. The lodge is definitely a unique place of cabins in a jungle atmosphere with beautiful plants, but close to town. The 5 of us stayed in a 3BR family cabin. Two of us took advantage of having massages in their cute little
spa
, which was great. We ate dinner and most breakfasts at their little restaurant. Very good food."
