A slower way of seeing this incredible area is by setting off along more than 43 miles (70 kilometres) of hiking trails surrounding the town. Walk along paths through thick spruce forests and marvel at spectacular views.
When it’s time to relax, head to Acquafun at the east end of town. Soak in the Jacuzzi or bask under the sun in the outdoor pool.
During the winter the town cools down and the focus turns to snow sports. Ski and snowboard on the slopes of Haunold Mountain or try snowshoeing on the Dolomiti Nordic Ski trail. Come in January when artisans from around the world gather for the International Snow Sculpture Festival.
