This is by far the best place that my husband and I have ever stayed. The house was in the center of town, where you could get to the highways within 5 minutes. The bed was very comfortable and the bedding was very cozy. The breakfast that Esther provided was delicious. I thought it was very thoughtful of her to leave a small fanny pack to use for outings on the mountains that had a crossbody style. The backyard was very charming, with all the lights and floral design that she had put on her small shed and around the fence. The hottub was well-maintained and towels were provided. My husband and I loved the living room with the fireplace as well. We will definitely return here on our next visit to Salt Lake City.
Esther was a great host, breakfast was delicious, my room was very clean, bathroom was roomy and well stocked with all the amenities. I would highly recommend! Excellent place!
This is a beautiful place to stay near SLC. It’s beautiful and quiet with dining options as well as other things to do in the area. We live to play pickleball and found a wonderful facility 2 miles away in Cottonwood. This B & B is too notch. Excellent breakfast and wonderful owner.
Highly recommend!
Beautiful B & B in a historic home that has been exceptionally well renovated. Friendly and welcoming hostess. Everything was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was outstanding. I have nothing but positive comments and have already recommended it to friends.
Beautiful former home of a famous ski jumper, Alf Engen. Esther is a wonderful host and cooked us delicious breakfast and provides coffee and snacks which were very convenient to put in the backpack to eat while exploring SLC. Highly recommend!
Esther was an AMAZING hostess!!! She is so personable and so accommodating. The facility was fabulous and the breakfast she made was delicious and very filling. The neighborhood is very quiet and well landscaped. I would absolutely refer this property to friends and family and will be certain to return again!!!
Esther's home was wonderful! Very gracious, helpful, and more!! Check in was easy, the room was clean and cozy. Breakfast was as delicious and as ordered. Thanks, Esther!!
Awesome stay, wish I'd allowed for more time to enjoy Engen Hus! Very welcoming, clean and a gracious host. Highly recommended if you wanted to stay in the Salt Lake City area and have as a base to stay and come back to at the end of the day. Very convenient location if you're going skiing/boarding in either Little or Big Cottonwood Canyon's resorts. Much nicer than a lot of the hotel/motel options in the area, just make sure you have transportation covered as Engen Hus is in a residential neighborhood- not a negative, just something to be aware of.
the Engen Hus Bed & Breakfast is not only the best most highest recommended stay for comfort and convenience, It's also located in one of the best areas on the east side of Salt Lake. That make it the the perfect stay if you need to access down-town Salt Lake, because the eastern location allows one to access the fast back-routs so that you miss all of the morning traffic. It's location in one of the finer areas of Salt Lake, put it just the right spot to find the good diners and dives for lunch or dinner. That, along with its perfect situation close, but not too close to down town, makes the Engen Hus B&B my top pick for 2023.
Engen Hus is exceptionally charming and welcoming. It is a gorgeous house. The rooms are lovely, the communal areas inviting and cosy, the breakfast is delectable, and there are ample snacks and soft drinks on offer. The host is charming, friendly and accommodating. This is a truly lovely B&B. I’ll never stay anywhere else in SLC.

Esther is a wonderful host.I felt really at home there. The hot tub was really nice with powerful massage jets and the breakfast was amazing even though it was serve yourself the morning i was there(anything you could want)I loved the common areas too, great books to look at and some little games to play.Overall a great little getaway if you want somewhere quiet and cozy. Its a beautiful swiss style home and perfect for a ski trip or some time in the mountains....big cottonwood canyon is just right up the road.loved it.
Very nice house and property. Just wish they didn't keep the outside lights on in the backyard. The lights came into the room and made it difficult to fall asleep even with the shades drawn. Other than that, it was great.
