"The property is good for a night stay. You have to leave the car outside so you can go and check in to get the gate code, if you arrive a bit late the are looks a bit abandoned. Not sure if it’s part of the service but we had no towels in the room."

I traveled a long way from US to Swiss (Villa 12 is on the border between Swiss and France), and had to work on the arriving day, so I got at the Villa 12 Guesthouse around 8:30pm, that is very normal time for a hotel/Guesthouse check-in time. The areas itself is ok, it's near a tram stop into the centre of Basel and within close enough proximity to local amenities such as the Co-op to stock up on some essentials for cooking.
