"We have stayed at the V and A waterfront before and the Commodore combines great location, great value for money, nice spacious rooms (junior suite), good food and in depth quality of staff. The hotel is a safe, level 5 minute walk from the V and A waterfront. They not only managed to get us checked in before the official time, but front desk, bell staff, cleaning staff particularly were well above average. When we checked in the staff were a little apologetic that some guests find the themed decor dated and old fashioned. This is nonsense. If it is clean, well maintained and tasteful it is not a negative it is a positive. The Commodore hotel has character! We will be back next year. "

"Staff were great! Hotel location was great! There was a mixup on check-in where the Hotel had not been notified that I had upgraded my room after making the initial booking. Mpumbi and Andre worked to resolve it. The 1-bedroom deluxe (with Balcony) was spacious. The included breakfast option was good as well, but the Hotel's best asset is their staff."
