"Riding 5 motorcycles down to the Dordogne so for us it was a very good stopover.
Super clean and tidy , very secure and we had a pleasant evening meal in the dining area, very good value."
"Lovely host, very helpful. Small rooms but OK. Only problem having room near to stairs it was noisy with people coming in after midnight, not good with a dog."
"We really liked the sites as it was convenient to get to La Rochelle and Rochefort. Fouras is a great town with lots going on; nice selection of restaurants. The pool was nice but people were not following the rules of no vaping aloud (maybe more/clearer signs or staff mentioning it to visitors would help). The bathroom was a bit smelly at the start but with ventilation that improved (there were no shelves in the shower area so that was not practical). We had plenty of towels and it was great that the linen was provided (and beds made before our arrival). very straightforward checking and helpful staff at reception. The nearby beach is covered in shells and not sands; it'd be nice if that was mentioned in the site's description as it is misleading to say the beach is 300m away (not really a beach to go to with children for example). Overall, we had a great stay and recommend the site."
"This hotel is the definition of “you get what you pay for” - reasonably priced in a great location, with an excellent breakfast and very good staff, so what’s missing? Firstly, the hotel has no parking and the streets all around are full of cars looking for a parking space…we spent 40 minutes looking and ended up 15 minutes walk from hotel. Next, WiFi - despite hotel saying it’s available the service doesn’t connect reliably and drops out constantly. Third, the rooms are small - although the bathroom is adequate and there’s a tiny balcony. Fourth, there’s no A/C.
So that’s are the downside…the upside is location - the beach is directly across the road in front of the hotel and is a fine sandy beach that shelves gently into the water and is safe for kids. The boat harbour and ferries are a five minute walk with lots of bars and restaurants and the fabulous town market is a ten minute walk and a must-see. There’s also a spectacular walking path that follows the cliff tops north all the way round to the Casino - about three kms so if you lose all your money you can walk back to the hotel. Highly recommended. "
