Wouldn’t stay again due to poor condition of unit and customer service by local team. The location, check-in and WiFi is convenient. The pictures and condition of the unit did not match up at all. I’m sure the rooms looked like the picture in their prime but now they are run down and need maintenance BADLY. I took pics and video and sent it to customer service and they didn’t do anything or see an issue, just said there was nothing they could do and online photos are just examples.Told me supervisor would contact me and ofcourse they didn’t. Didn’t offer anything, even to move me to another unit, wouldn’t approve refund. Probably because they are all terrible. You can tell renovations were cheaply done. There was water damage throughout the property, the walls are all scuffed up, the bathroom stinks of mold, black mold in the shower, shower door coming apart, sink leaks in the back. I could barely breathe in the bathroom it was so bad. When we checked in sheets had stains, they never got changed even after alerting property. The bed is made with a sheet only but we found a comforter in the closet ourselves luckily. The apartment definitely appears smaller in person but that isn’t a huge deal. The bed wasn’t comfortable and pillows were cheap and soft. The place just felt a bit grungy and looks like a budget version of what you see online. Towels were cheap but we liked having products in the shower like shower gel. Budget option, no staff onsite typically, chat line a joke.

Mother in laws visit.
An amazing room. Easy location to get with less than a 15 minute walk from the train terminal. Our only concern was not being able to set the air conditioning when we first got there.the room was very warm when we walked in. But other than that the location was within minutes of Trevi Fountain, the Spanish steps and restaurants.

5 stars to Sonder for their property and service. They do excellent work all around, from property upkeep to customer service. Loved the luggage storage option for early check ins. This location was great for Rome tourism, as we didn't know in advance and realized that it was important to be close to both of the primary Metro lines A and B for tourists wanting to use the subway system. Other properties, including Sonder ones, arent within walking distance to lines A and B stations. Nearby Gino Bar was a hit w/ the family for not only delicious coffee but breakfast and sandwiches also. Nearby La Pescheteria had super fresh and well cooked seafood. Nearby Osteria Barberini had delicious truffle based pasta dishes. The property was very safe and it felt like you stayed in a high end neighborhood, evidenced by a brand new high end Marriott and a Curio Collection by Hilton both next door. Walking distance not only to the Borghese park but also bike rental shop within. Walking distance to grocery store and tourist destinations like Trevi fountain without being too close. The furniture was well selected. Some Ikea stuff for the looks, yet some very well built / sturdy non-Ikea stuff also for the robustness. All the home appliances we needed including clothes washer and dish washing machine. Americans would prefer to have a clothes drier but they offered a drying rack. Any time we needed something, Sonder was accessible via chat. They promptly responded to every chat.

Black mold in the bathrooms. Moldy smells permeating the whole apartment. When we noted the smells and asked staff to clean the bathrooms, they falsely claimed that housekeeping did.

Property was clean, felt nearly brand new and had a washing machine, which was a must for us as we like to travel light. Steps away from the Metro A line, many dining options and less than ten minutes walk from Trevi fountain and walkable to the Pantheon, the Spanish steps, the Borghese park and gallery and a gate through Rome’s wall. Communication with the property was great but I would strongly suggest you use their mobile app as it enables easy contact via chat and even the ability to set up a key using your phone. Their is no concierge on the property. This was not an issue for us as we had maintenance at our door in less than an hour when there was an issue with the HVAC but you want to be comfortable communicating with staff via the app or by phone using the number left at the desk before you book this property.
