"The only thing I didn't like was the restaurant. We ordered two lobster dinners and were served shrimp. When we stole the waitress that we ordered lobster and got shrimp, she looked at our plates and said, "no, that is lobster." I said no it is not and so did my grandson. Then she came back and said they could correct only one plate. I said, "how is that reasonable? We ordered two lobster plates and got shrimp. Why wouldn't you correct both?" It was a big to do and by the time I got my dinner, I had lost my appetite. Both the shrimp and lobster were over cooked."

"Staff, setting, and food were all awesome. It was a peaceful, natural hotel. Prepare for rain. It’s a part of the experience, and there were lots of breaks in the rain, even some sun around the pool in the afternoon. The night walk was unforgettable, the little town of Tortuguero so interesting, and the water transport to and from Pavona docks was so mesmerizing and unique. I loved the staff who work at Mawamba! Big shout out to the restaurant staff, chefs, and bar staff. "

"Such a beautiful place in the middle of nature. I loved their pool and food was amazing (we got the “full board” option for all of our meals paid for and it was definitely worth it, buffet style, delicious). Staff were incredible, kind and always helpful! Clean rooms - with all you need. Since you are in the middle of the forest, you get awaken by howler monkeys and birds, which I loved - being right inside the forest. Fan helped keep it nice and fresh at night, exactly what we needed! Perfecto location for us … in front of the town, 5 min by boat! Very private, and yet close to town! I would definitely stay here again!! Thank you! "
