Nice and quiet, clean and spacious rooms, breakfast was very tasty with a wide variety, about 1 mile/20 minute walk from the old town centre but lots of local places to eat and easy to navigate, maximum 5 mins walk to the national museum.

A unique and memorable property in a good location. The staff is friendly and multilingual, the breakfast is good, and the wifi, which worked about 90% of the time, was very fast. I would only suggest updating some of the basic features -- I had a nice spacious room, but the shower curtain was rather old and flimsy, and the hot water was inconsistent. Overall, though, a good stay.

Good hotel, great service, but not so great rooms
The location of the hotel is very good, next to trendy cafés and walking distance to the old town. The staff were really amazing. Always friendly and trying to be as accommodating as possible. However, there were some negative issues regarding the room. The furniture is quite old and the curtains were falling apart and they were not blackout curtains, which meant that it was very bright in the room from early morning. Although the room was non-smoking and there was a sign warning of a penalty for smoking in the room, it still stank of the smell of tobacco. In the day before leaving, the room was simply not cleaned and the towels were not replaced. The breakfast was really good and the terrace was a great place to chill out.

I just loved this charming hotel. It's delightful. Great location and near the stunning gardens and parks but only a few minutes walk to the old town. Super comfortable rooms with everything and wonderful breakfasts.

Old hotel in the midst of the Art Nouveau district. 10 minute walk to busses, trams and Hop on Hop off bus. there are two floors above the reach of the lift, so,be prepared to carry your luggage higher. breakfast good and can be taken on an open terrace in good weather.

Short break in Riga
We had a lovely short 5 night break in Riga, staying at Art Hotel Laine. It was reasonably well situated, near to the old town. The only downside was there were no shops, bars or restaurants in the immediate vicinity. The reception was on the 3rd floor, the staff were welcoming & friendly. Our room was number 607 on the 7th floor. The lift only goes up to the 5th floor, then a walk up 2 flights of stairs, 1 of which was a wooden staircase. A little difficult for people with disabilities. The room was spacious, clean & recently refurbished. There were problems with getting hot water for a shower, which we weren't told that the hot tap had to be run for a long period of time before it came hot. The air conditioning was very good amd free. The continental breakfast was plentiful and ample.

Quirky hotel
A quirky hotel with an unprepossessing entrance via a lift and reception on the third floor. In the past it had obviously been a very grand hotel with a different entrance. Some of the grandeur remained however with spacious corridors and rooms together with high corniced ceilings. Beds were comfortable and rooms were quiet and spacious. Breakfasts offered a good choice of food and all of the staff were welcoming and very helpful. The hotel is quite well situated about 15 minutes walk from the centre of town. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will stay here again if we return to Riga.

Lovely staff
The staff were very helpful and the location is great: 15 mins walk max into the old city. Breakfast was a decent buffet breakfast. The décor is tired and needs a refresh: walk in showers and international TV channels are pretty much standard these days

The breakfast was below par. Way below. And I found that I needed to pay a extra 7 EUR for my breakfast. Wow. If ever in town again, Never again to that hotel. I haven't travelled much in my days but this was the most dirty hotel I ever saw.

Excellent location and friendly staff. Room was clean and had all the essentials. The only downside was the lack of sound insulation between rooms. I actually woke up one night thinking somebody was walking around in my room, when in fact, it was just a sound of my neighbour's footsteps.

Like - quiet, on quiet street with access through court-yard to 3rd floor lobby, acess by foot to Old Town, city centre, near to public transit, excellent for physically able male travelling alone since food and other amenities ample within easy walking distance (restaurant in hotel had closed, however breakfast was available and good and plentiful). Very clean. Minor amenities sparse - does not affect my opinion of hotel. I always bring my own basic soaps, shampoos, lotions, etc. Helpful staff at all times (can order breakfast if have pre-breakfast function or travel). Good value for my travel needs in Riga. Saw as guests families with children. I was not seeking an experience but a good base for my activities in Riga which it was. Like!

Terrific,easygoing base for exploring Riga,very pleasant staff and ambience,right near the bohemian Kanepes centre.Gargantuan breakfast to top it all off.Exceptionally good value off season too.Highly recommended.
