"The staff was friendly and smiling. The breakfast was tasty and we appreciate that the staff checked regularly if we needed something. A big shopping centre was just a few steps from the hotel including supermarkets. We recommend this hotel without hesitation ❤"
"Het hotel was netjes, ontbijt was prima.
De bedden waren matig. Wij sliepen met 2 volwassenen en 2 kinderen op de kamer.
Het bed voor de ouders was prima, de kussens stelde weinig voor. Het bed voor de kinderen was hard en klein. Uiteindelijk heeft onze dochter op de grond geslapen op de dekens. Net zo hard maar dan wel de ruimte. "
"The Hotel is amazing a self check in hotel. Check in process easy and also check out process. It’s easy reaching customer service they are available like 24/7 and there’s immediate help. Only one thing it’s a little far in the area if you use public transportation and also I was to pay breakfast via my booking app but wasn’t offered the option and paying at the hotel was a little more. Otherwise all is awesome thank you All. Danke schon!!!"
"Arrived to a sign in reception saying it is not manned and to ring the bell. Someone came after a short wait and booked me in. I paid extra for breakfast and was told my room was upstairs with key in the door.
2 flights of stairs and the room was clean and tidy. More like an apartment than a bedroom with kitchen and dining table.
Nothing to allow you to have a hot drink such as milk or tea/coffee even though there is a fridge and kettle. So after a long trip arriving at the venue you would...
"The rooms were a generous size. The lady who greeted us was lovely and friendly.
The room had a fridge and a kettle, but no cups, teaspoons, tea or coffee. I know that in Germany, the rooms often only have water, but it seemed strange having a kettle with no other accourtements."

"I booked a “Deluxe Loft, 1 Double Bed, Non Smoking, City View” that was supposed to be 538 sq ft (ca. 50 m²)
When I got to the hotel, I was given a room that was barely 150 sq ft (ca. 14 m²), and when I asked the reception if a mistake was made, I was told the loft I booked was “closed for the winter”.
Instead of a nice city view, we had a lousy view of a fatigued backyard.
That is a problem because the room I got was much cheaper than the one I paid for. In addition to that, the Loft is still available as I am writing this, so if it's an error, no one bothered to fix it.
Then, there's the fact that regardless of the room size, the hotel Forstinger doesn't deserve four stars at all.
There was mold in the shower, the bathroom is overall old and moldy, the mattress is a disgrace, very uncomfortable, the “gym” is one lousy stepping machine in a corridor, and breakfast, charged €28 per person, is barely worth €10/person.
I travel for work a lot, I am in 20+ different hotels each year, between three and five stars, and I can say with certainty that the Hotel Forstinger doesn't deserve four stars. Three at most.
I don't thank you for almost ruining what was supposed to be a very nice experience. Luckily, everything else in Schärding beside the hotel Forstinger was a very pleasant experience.
In the end, with breakfast, I paid €260 for one night, I was expecting much better."
