When we arrived they said they didn’t have a room we reserved (one with a king bed) ready so it would be an hour wait. We came with friends who booked the same room and they got to go right up to their room. We waited and when we got to our room it reeked of cigarettes and even though it was supposed to be a non smoking floor. When we called they said there was nothing they could do about it except move us to a whole other hotel?! When we asked for compensation they couldn’t compensate us because we booked through Expedia. They gave us a small resort credit we could barley use there. Such a waste! Will never stay here again!

I reserved a NON-SMOKING room and when I checked in the front desk gave me a SMOKING room. Of course, the smell was terrible. I called front desk to request a change to another room because the smell was causing me headaches the manager JAMES very rudely told me that I had to stay there because they did not have more rooms available and even though I reserved a non smoking room, the hotel does not guarantee that, they will provide a room yes but just what is available. I find this action super rude and irresponsible because I had to deal with the smell my whole stay. I will definitely try to stay away from this location again.

Pleasantly surprised!! Staff was wonderful and the property looked like it should be in the middle of Fremont street in Vegas, classic but without the massive crowds and smoke. Relaxing and good food options. Loved the free parking and skywalk ramps to the lobby, as it was December. The options to dine or drink til 3am was especially helpful as we all arrived from southern CA at 10pm. Did not realize the Cesar rewards points must be obtained with the restaurant directly as the rewards desk does not add points with receipts like MGM rewards does. Have stayed at a couple of the other casino hotels in Reno but liked El Dorado especially the proximity to walk around downtown and short drive to mid-town stores. Will definitely come back when in Reno.
