"The hotel is beautiful, inside and out. The building itself dates back to 1913. It is in a decent area, within 6-7 minutes walking distance to 2 trams that will get you to the main train station where you can transfer to other trams to get you around Amsterdam. We did not try the restaurant or bar, they just weren't our style. We stayed in a canal-facing room on the 1st floor (floor 0 is street level) and the view was lovely. The bed was extremely comfortable. A bit pricey, but so is...

"On arrival the room thay had allocated was our of service. And had given us a room on the 3rd floor. The hotel has no lift. We both have mobility issues and the owner did not want to put us on the 3rd floor. She tried to arrange a sifferent hotel with a lift at no extra chargebut eas unable to locate one. They then moved 10 people from a 1st floor room to 3 other rooms at their expence so we vould have an easier time. Totally inexpexted amd fantastic outcome to a bad situation. Very impressed....

We were delivered complimentary cake and fruit to celebrate and a personal note from staff was the finishing touch. Absolutely stunning facilities.
