Quieta Beach is a tranquil, sun-drenched cove with scenic views of Ixtapa Island and gentle surf. As its name suggest, it attracts a quieter crowd than the beaches surrounding it. Head to Quieta Beach to eat local seafood on the beach, relax with a massage and enjoy some of the safest swimming conditions in the Ixtapa area.
Visitors staying at Ixtapa’s Club Med will find Quieta Beach literally in their front garden. Located at the southern end of the cove, the international resort offers beachfront condos and apartments, swimming pools and numerous restaurants and bars.
Sun lounges and umbrellas are available for rent at the northern end of the long beach. Set yourself up for the day before wading into the shallow water. Protected from the wind and with gentle, rolling waves, Quieta Beach is an ideal destination for families with young children.
Rent Jet Skis and paddleboards from the south end of the beach, just near Club Med. From Quieta Beach, you can make the half-hour kayak journey across to Ixtapa Island or rent snorkels to discover the diverse and colourful marine life beneath the surface.
Back on dry land, you’ll find some inconspicuous restaurants set back from the sand. Serving local seafood prepared by traditional methods, these restaurants are some of the most authentic in Ixtapa and are a great alternative to the tourist-centric eateries that are prominent in resort precincts.
After lunch, indulge with a massage at one of the massage huts along the sand, or settle back to watch the sun set over Ixtapa Island. Quieta Beach is located approximately 6 miles (9.7 kilometres) north of Ixtapa and can be reached by car, taxi or bicycle using the path that follows the coast. The beach is accessible to the public, except for the area operated by Club Med. Free parking is available at the northern end.
