This is a decent and quiet property. The overall property conditions and facilities are quite good, although our stay was clouded by some poor service/communication which we faced during our two nights stay at the Holiday Inn - Frankton Road Queenstown. We were advised by the receptionist / duty manager (around 3 pm) that the restaurant would be open for dinner up until 9 pm. Considering our lunch was quite decent, we opted to have our dinner as well as other meals at the hotel (restaurant). However when we arrived for dinner at approx 8 pm and were asked to take a seat, another member of the staff advised us that the last dinner service ended at 8pm and they could not serve us anymore as they were too busy serving a group. While we understand and appreciate a hotel should look after its bigger clienteles. we did not expect such poor communication from a chain hotel. At the very least, one of the staff could have informed us, given we were advised only couple hours earlier that dinner would be served until 9 pm. A clear example of the right not knowing what the left hand is doing! My partner and I left the restaurant with a bad taste, given we were initially allowed to enter and sit at the restaurant. As a newly wedded couple from Australia, I will not be returning or recommending this hotel to anyone.
