But as I do want the to stay in business… It is a serene, well built hotel on the water with shady spots and set up to catch the breeze. The hotel serves breakfast; continental is free, but a made to order breakfast is also available for a reasonable fee. The pool is a lap pool and the thatched cabana was a perfect place to relax with coffee. Did I mention the comfortable beds? The staff, including Greta the cat, is helpful and...

"The staff at this hotel are the real stars, particularly Emelita Teul and Linsburg Chun, who go over and above anything required of them to be as helpful and hospitable as possible. The staff generally are very friendly, kind, considerate, and gentle (like most Belizeans, I might add). The hotel itself has clearly seen its glory days, and is now almost decrepit, I won't list and detail every little thing that did not work, was broken, or absent. It would have been a genuinely uncomfortable stay...

"Our stay began with welcoming staff providing us with thorough information regarding our stay, gifts and a yummy welcome drink. The accommodations were excellent, we especially liked the shower overlooking the jungle. We only stayed 2 nights but did get a chance to do the mixology class and snorkel with the chef. Both were excellent. My favorite was waking up to the noises of the jungle that included howler monkeys and birds. So peaceful and a great adventure. "
