Overall I had a very good experience. The buffet staff, animation group and housekeeping were amazing. I reported issues with the room A/C because the room didn't cooled enough. I reported tge issue, but it was never solved.

The hotel needs to do better with the customer service. Dealt with a lot of attitude for no reason. Food was below average. They don’t clean around the pool tables so you get a lot of flies. First time at a RIU and it will be my last.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with an unresolved issue I encountered during my recent stay at Riu Palace Bavaro.I was assigned room [6424] during my stay from [11-02-24] to [11-08-24], and unfortunately, the room had a serious issue with a leaking light fixture. Despite reporting this problem multiple times to the hotel staff the issue was never addressed adequately.The leak persisted, causing not only inconvenience and discomfort but also a safety concern given the presence of electrical fixtures near water.Property damage of my make up bag with cosmetics inside. I made sure to inform hotel staff immediately after noticing the leak, and followed up several times, yet no action was taken to repair or resolve . This lack of attention to a basic maintenance issue left me frustrated and disappointed with both the hotel and the service. I expect a certain level of responsiveness and professionalism when issues arise.

Stayed at this property for 4 nights in November 2024. PROS On-site coffee shop - fantastic cappuccino or espresso options. Check in was a very easy process, quick service to receive our luggage. Japanese grill (WOK) fantastic stir-fry. CONS Found the staff to be very rude, not greeted upon arrival, as you walk around the property none of the staff says hello unless you say hello first. Earwigs found in our room several nights in a row. Grounds were very basic, landscape minimal, doesn’t feel like a tropical paradise. Limited options for breakfast and lunch. Restaurants were okay, food options very limited. Entertainment lacking, not consistent or entertaining. I’ve stayed at the Dreams 3 years ago, to be honest if I were to visit Punta Cana again I’d rather spend an extra $400-$500 for the week and stay at a nicer facility with friendlier staff. Giving this hotel a 3/5, and this is being very generous.
