This was one of the best properties we have stayed at. We stayed here for 4 nights. The dining was just too good. You have to reserve for dinner which we had no issue on the first day.

Well maintained clean resort with great dining options for pure vegetarians too! Plenty of fresh fruit and fresh juice options at breakfast in addition to a variety of other traditional breakfast items, desserts had good variety and not too repetitive, special thanks to the Indian chef Sandeep Singh who cheerfully helped us identify the vegetarian dishes in the non-Indian menu items too!! There was Indian vegan food served with basmati rice every night at dinner, totally loved that! Beach and pool were clean with plenty of seating at the beach, pool did get full quick for seating if we didn’t block with a towel early on, but manageable. Getting coconut water at the beach on a daily basis was nice, would have appreciated at least one per day complimentary instead of paying $5, considering this was all inclusive. It was great still. One major dissatisfaction was too many boats and catamarans parked at the beach waters on the Lopesan side!! Totally obstructed the calming sea view one would wish for from a beach vacation! They are ALWAYS there! Besides this one negative, the resort was great otherwise with plenty of variety in both activities and food! Would recommend to a friend 🙂

The staff is not very attentive. They were socializing with their friends instead of caring for the customers. The front desk at the spa were very rude and did not give us the Expedia discount. Not even the manager would help. All three personnel were on their phones and would not explain their services. They just handed you a booklet for you to try and figure out their services.

The property is good but food and drinks are horrible. We were group of 15 and almost 6 ppl got really sick from the open buffet food. Open buffet selections are very limited and fish selections were not cooked properly. 3 ppl got bad diarrhea the whole trip. Management must do a QA on the open buffet.

I am a silver member and it was notified in my reservation that I would have a special perk at my arrival but the staff told me that was just for gold members The AC in the room didn’t work well and we had cold with a 22 C on thermostat!

For my family of 4 (two 17-year olds), the Lopesan is an excellent, quite luxurious resort, as good or better compared to the other all-inclusive we have stayed at (inc. Gran Bahia in DR, also great). The pros are the general resort layout and feel, the spacious rooms, the pool areas, and the proximity to the airport. The cons—the beach swimming area is small and lots of algae (similar at other resorts on this stretch), the food overall at buffets and specialty restaurants was not as good as other resorts but passable, and they ran out of beach towels a lot. Staff was great. Easy check in and check out. Nice shops, theater, sports bar, coffee shop.

I liked the hotel, it’s big, spacious, the areas are beautiful decorated, the restaurants are amazing, good food, good service. The beach is beautiful, you can swim and enjoy walking. They have activities included, like kayaking. I really liked to stay in this hotel. I got an upgraded room because I reserved it by Expedia. Thanks for that! The only thing I didn’t like it, is that some employees were too insistent with us to let good reviews in google naming them, I felt like pressured by them, and it wasn’t necessary because everything was really good.

The stay was comfortable, though there were some hiccups at the start. The valet mistakenly took our belongings with another guest’s and dropped theirs off first before attending to us, even though we had two small children with us. The fridge wasn’t working, and the room was a bit dirty when we checked in. The fridge was replaced the next day, but only after four calls. The drinks were diluted. Although this was advertised as a five-star stay, it did not meet that standard. That said, it was a comfortable stay with the kids. The food options, restaurants, and café were decent. Overall, it is a decent all-inclusive resort but falls short of the five-star experience it was promoted as.
