Disliked: Communication
This is a self check-in hotel with a groundskeeper who gives you access. They are polite but they do not carry much authority as the management is run by a remote person. We were notified there was an issue with our payment when they tried to charge online. This was unusual as our trip’s Expedia charges had gone through without issue and the check-in process on Expedia is to pay at property also we haven’t showed a card yet. But, we contacted our card providers to find this was inaccurate and they weren’t declined (1st red flag). We suggested using another card and conveniently their terminal/credit card machine wasn’t working and suggested we pay cash (2nd red flag). We asked to speak to management, the person gets a hold of the management on the phone, who claimed we need to cancel our booking or change our cards on Expedia as it’s us with a payment issue. Then management proceeded to hang up on their worker and avoided answering even after multiple attempts and would only answer via WhatsApp chat. Starting to get weird, we got Expedia on to troubleshoot this issue with their hotel. This whole situation took us 3 hours where WE had to coordinate all the parties together and find the solution with Expedia to change the booking. Turns out it was the hotel’s issue to begin with, which they didn’t own up to. The property is nice and cool but the management experience was so poor that we would never consider this property again.
