Disappointing
The bed was so hard and uncomfortable, barely got any sleep. Woke up and could barely get out of bed. Room had a window ac and a portable space heater, functional but not practical. And hot water took about 6-7 minutes to get a hot shower. Also got an email the day before saying parking was for compact vehicles only. No trucks/vans allowed to park in a lot that’s a few buildings away from hotel.

On the positive the Hotel was centrally located to the activities and the beach was directly across the street. The owner was courteous.The bed was nice and firm and the room was clean except for mold on the shower curtain. On the negative side the room did not have a curtain hanging on the curtain rod and ended up using the bed spread to keep the outside light out. There were no instructions on how to turn on the air conditioner so ended up opening the window and could hear street noise. Also someone unplugged the direct TV box so it took 20 minutes to figure out what was wrong and get the TV going. Checkout was 10:30 AM a bit earlier than most places.

Staff was very accommodating. I am handicapped and all rooms at Atlantic Sands are up stairs. The staff switched us to the Hillcrest Inn nextdoor where there were minimal stairs.

There was no closet or even a single hook on the wall or door to hang anything. The room was very small which I expected, but I’ve stayed in smaller rooms that had a rack with shelf and hangers so it was very disappointing that they couldn’t even supply that. There was wall space for that. The shower head was not adjustable and the water went straight over my head onto the back wall of the stall. I had to use a cup to fill with water and splash onto me. I couldn’t wash my hair. Those two things were so discouraging, I would not stay here again. Otherwise staff was very friendly and parking was included and convenient.
