The shops, restaurants etc where all closed. wee had one day of the booked 5 days where the weather was fine and most shops and restaurants reopened. We spend the time mostly reading and relaxing."

"We called this room our "Star Trek" room as the tech in the room was quite amazing. The location was a bit off the beaten tourist track, but that was part of what we liked about it. Amazing view, close to the boardwalk on the water, exceptional staff and very comfy bed. Would stay here again!"

"Even though the weather was atrocious poured from the minute we got there to after we left there was still plenty to do around the hotel and local Westfields. My kids still swam regardless of the weather. The pool and spa was a big winner. The Chophouse grill was stand out. We will definitely be back there again. "

"Ample parking, would like to know the Hotel's Emergency contingency plan. We got caught to the storm, the Hotel did not have power for 2 days. The Hotel did not have a Plan B. The customers had to fend for them selves, there was no information was shared for the hotel residents when there was a situation. I was with my 2 kids, it was quite challenging, when lifts were not working, we had to walk down 3 levels with bags, to get to our car to load the car to leave the premises. "

"We arrived early and the very friendly receptionist allowed us to check in. Our room was on level 5 facing the harbor, it was interesting watching the ships enter Newcastle Port. There is car parking under the building with an overflow outdoor section. Our only issue was a very small room fridge without a freezer. The bar staff gave us ice when we asked for it. All of the hotel staff were polite and professional. "
