"Really noisy, I even approached the lobby representative (lady) and informed her about the noise during my stay. She did confirm that next to room 203 there is a storage room under the stairs. The first night it was a disturbing noise around 11:30 pm. m. and the next night it was a loud noise again around 4:45am. m. and 6:40 a.m. m. (same day). I also paid for room 202 as well and my family members also complained about noise coming from lobby staff near room 202. in summary stay away from rooms...

"You NEED to stay here on Isla Colon. A short taxi ride into Bocas Town for nightlife but farther out of town for a restful and quiet time. Richard’s place is beautiful with garden and a relaxing pool. Right across from a sweet little restaurant and directly across from a cute little beach. Listen to the waves put you to sleep and the monkeys to wake you up. Richard is so helpful and really wants you to have a great holiday. Would definitely recommend to anybody. "

The beach is great for surfing or for strolling around. It is further away from Bocas town and requires a taxi ride charging $20 one way. "

"We are so happy we stayed at Akwaba Lodge. The grounds are well maintained and we had opportunity to walk around and explore. We loved and appreciated the home made meals, breakfast to get us going with fresh homemade bread and jams. Then dinners, with a couple options to choose from, were delicious. We felt like we were part of the family dining there. The room had all we needed and was cleaned daily. We enjoyed some time just sitting at the table outside our room or relaxing in the hammocks....

"This property is a gem! We stayed a week in December and had an all around lovely stay. The bungalows were clean and so relaxing. Everyone on the staff was friendly and went out of their way to accommodate the guests. We went out several times on excursions with Alejandro and had A experiences. "Very basic stay. Try for a second story room. First floor has no furniture for outside seating, the interior court is very small and your other option puts you basically on the side walk. We took dining rooms chairs to there. 2nd floor rooms had balconies with furniture. Laundry service was outstanding. Having a kitchen was a bonus but limited tools available. A strainer for pasta (a travellers staple) would have been nice. Also what was left of a melted spatula made it tough to flip anything in the pan. Coffee maker and blender looked pretty new. Air conditioner didn’t go below 24c. Was pretty warm. All in all, not sure it was worth the price, spend an extra $20. "
