"I had a really nice stay here. The room was clean and secure, the wifi, air conditioning, shower, all worked great. The staff was super- friendly and helpful. They were patient with my awful Spanish and were able to switch to English when needed. Even the restaurant had good food. Not a luxery resort, but perfectably servicable at a good price. Puntarenas isn't the "nicest" town per se but it is interesting and authentic and this hotel is very good."

"If you are going for a beach, choose a different resort. The beach is not meant for swimming. Shipping port is in view and the water is brown. Beach is not clean. The cool thing is the sand is black. I suggest getting the premium package. Other rooms are apparently run down and have no windows that open it balcony. We enjoyed the premium section. "I loved the location, the beach, the street vendors. The water is beautiful and warm. We went swimming at night, it was great. The staff was very nice, just didn't seem very knowledgeable. Breakfast was great also. There is a shower by where there park the cars to rinse off from the ocean."

"Very nice and cool old hotel. Great view from balconies of ocean, nice clean pool and rec. area. Friendly informative staff. Very good breakfast. Very nice walk in front to nice restaurants. large room, had a room with no windows and it was still OK. Would advise trying to get a room facing the ocean if you are spending time in the room. "

"Bahia Rica Was an oasis in Paquera. We stayed for one night and did the bioluminescent tour and Isla Tortuga. The guest house was a rustic sanctuary where you feel one with nature. "We stayed at the property for 1 night primarily because we heard good reviews of their zip lines over waterfalls and thought it would be more convenient. Ziplines were definitely the highlight and our family really enjoyed it. The route up was quite the adventure as it was steep and very very rocky. Great location resort

"We first stayed at the Marriott Los Suenos twenty years ago. We came twice then and loved it. We came for the sport fishing and were not disappointed. The marina then was small and we had great access to all the sport fishing boats but now it has gotten very exclusive and if you’re not actually on a boat, you can’t access the docks. The hotel was smaller then but fantastic. It has gotten bigger but not better. The staff was great but the tile floors make the hallways noisy and people talking out in the hall woke me up very early every morning. The room was comfortable and we liked it but the food in the restaurants was mediocre. The coffee shop did have great coffee and pastries and we enjoyed breakfast there more than in the restaurant. I wish I had more positive things to say because it has always been one of my favorite places. We went fishing, had a great time and did catch some fish but I miss the old Los Suenos. It’s such a great location and a great place to fish that I guess the change is inevitable"

"Fantastic view. Lovely pool with view. Restaurant had a view, was convenient for free buffet breakfast. We also had a fabulous dinner. Room was cosy. Morning wake up by Howler monkeys in the valley."
