Assigned room smelled of cigarette smoke. We were assigned a different room, but front desk clerk said staff told him the room didn't smell. New room had a 1 1/2" gap on door threshold, Hot & cold water lines were installed backwards, toilet paper roll fell off with each use, etc. Same clerk assured us there would be coffee/tea available in the office while waiting for 4am airport shuttle; there was none.

We really liked the pool and hot tub. Breakfast was ok, nothing spectacular. The lady working the buffet area was really nice, front desk acted bothered with questions being asked. Hotel had a musty smell.

Made this reservation sight unseen for an early flight from PHX. Almost regretted it when I arrived in a bad neighborhood with Phoenix fire bandaging a homeless man in front of the hotel. However, it was truly an island. The staff was great. The rooms new and clean. Parking was in the center of the hotel and very well lighted. Even the pizza place recommended by the front desk was better than average.

So we were traveling from CO and breakfast needs improvements in the variety of food they offer, we are used to having eggs and potatoes as something filling. Also, the employee serving breakfast is very rude, we were there at 8:30am and close time was 9am, I happened to leave my coffee on the counter as I prepared something else and she threw my coffee to the trash so I had to prepare a 2nd one and watch it. As I noticed I asked nicely if she had thrown it away, she said yes and seemed careless about the situation. I witnessed her just not being nice or genuine with any customers both AMs. The night before checking out our toilet got clogged.

The site calls it a hotel but it is a motel. The room was clean but smaller than expected. The area around the hotel is a little dicey and would not walk alone at night. Not much around with respect to restaurants. One positive it is. about 5 minutes from the airport
