Two very different coloured curtains. Mattress 3cm longer than the base that was missing a leg. Room smelt like marijuana until we got the air conditioning cranking. I hate smokers. Why can’t they go outside? Air conditioning and shower were fantastic and the best pillows I have ever slept on. Staff friendly and responsive. Location was great great. Room was clean.

Convenient to the city. Phone did not work, told reception, nothing done. Spare blanket in cupboard was dusty/musty could not use. No dishwashing equipment was told to rinse under water and dry with wash cloth !! Slept on 2 pillows and was still flat. Dirty towels and sheets left lying on floor in corridors. Would not recommend to anyone, very disappointing.

I stayed for one night with my seven-year-old daughter because of the location. The bathroom light did not work, and the hot water was lukewarm. I am not fussy and would usually overlook things like this. However, we have had four sleepless nights since staying at Ibis because the trauma for my daughter is still genuine! The fire/evacuation siren woke us up in the middle of the night, naturally scaring my daughter into a panic attack. I assured her that she was safe and that we needed to get downstairs. We were on the sixth floor, and I was always under the impression that the lift was a no-go in a fire emergency. After leaving our room, we headed to the emergency stairs - WHICH WERE LOCKED. So down the lift and joined everyone else on Murray Street. My daughter was inconsolable and has had nightmares ever since. I understand that accidents happen. But we were given no remuneration for the inconvenience, no apology - not even an explanation. So I am completely appalled at their lack of duty of care during and after the evacuation and left dealing with my daughter's trauma of the night almost a week later.
