Saw the poor rating but hadn't seen any comments in a couple years so thought maybe it had improved. It has not. This was the worst hotel experience you could imagine.
Booked a month ahead, even called after check-in time to make sure everything was set. We showed up that evening and were told “the housekeeper didn’t show up today, there’s no room for you.” And were sent away with no sympathy or help.
The carpet looks like it had not been vacuumed in a month. Debris was left under the beds. The bathrooms had mold that had been there for a long time. Fleas were jumping in the bathroom.
No one answered the phone tried every extension was unable to find the place

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service
This hotel needs a total renovation to be a clean, safe place to stay. Right now it should be closed and renovated before allowing any more guests.
There isn't even a front desk, parking is poor at best with no clear entrance to the rooms. A dark, damp stairwell leads to a darker, damper hallway will paint peeling off the ceiling and walls.
Those were definite red flags, then our room had not yet been cleaned was the final straw.
Very, very poor.
This hotel was nothing like pictures on hotels.com
Should not even be advertised to be rented.
There was no check in desk or any formal hotel stuff. The office fir check in was a tiny little closet space in the attached sports bar
The hallways were stinky and dirty.
First room we were given had no bathroom door. Tv didn’t work.
Upon complaining the second room we were given was a little bit better but the fridge was full of mold. The room had not been vacuumed there was garbage and stuff under the beds. Water stains on the ceiling from leakage above.
It was too late for me and my friend to demand a refund and try and find another hotel as we were from out of town So we stayed there.
But it was so bad we were worried we might wake up in the tub full of ice missing our organs.
I couldn’t even get an official receipt upon check out to use for the new staycation tax credit
And the charge for that was still $137 for a dump..
I would never recommend anyone stay there and it should be removed from all the rental sites
The only good thing was the staff at the attached sports bar.
This was the most disgusting establishment that I’ve ever set foot in. It is completely run down; the mini fridge was growing mold (and who knows what else!) inside - when my friend opened it, she gagged from the stench; there was garbage under the beds - pop cans, wrappers, dirty socks, etc; the bathtub was black on the bottom and there was black mold on either side of the tub. The hotel is attached to a bar/restaurant (apparently the same owner)
- those are the only people there to talk to - we asked for a vacuum - which my friend used to try to get rid of some of the dirt on the carpet (we thought someone would vacuum for us but they just left it outside our room beside the fridge that we had to put in the hall because the smell was so bad).
In my opinion, Expedia should not advertise for, or have anything to do with this hotel. I’m not sure where or when the pictures that are online were taken but the room we had was not even close to looking like that one. And don’t even get me started on the claim of “enhanced cleanliness measures”. We spent the next 5 nights sleeping in a tent in the bush which was better accommodations than this hotel provided.
The room hadn't been vacuumed. The screen door had a hole in it and there was no barrier so you could easily have plunged through it down one story onto the parking lot. The wall had plaster damage. The A/c unit was up against the ceiling and you had to climb on the furniture to turn it on. On a positive note the bed was clean and comfortable .

You guys need to fix that garbage WiFi..tired of using my data
BED BUGS. I was in room 104, and have 6 bites from bedbugs. Had to keep all of my bags outside when I got home to not being them into my house. There was hair all over the shower, stains on the sheets. It's a cheap hotel and I wasn't expecting luxury, but bedbugs are not ok.
The room was dirty, had no heat initially so we had to change rooms, stiil dirty ansd several safety hazards including in the morning no check out and door closest was key locked and that would be a fire hazard. Nothing to redeem it. Beds and tv ok.
This was the most DISGUSTING hotel I have ever stayed in!!!
When we checked in we had to go into a bar, there is no front desk. It was difficult to find. When we went to our room, the hallways were dirty and room numbers were written with marker on the walls. Opening our door, we saw unmade beds, garbage, and towels all over. We had to go back and out and around building to get back to bar where we told them what we found. They said we could go somewhere else, but it was late and we had been driving all day, so they said they would get the room cleaned up and give us a free drink while we waited. We had the drink. There were some very rude and sketchy people in the bar/restaurant. When the room was ready, the girl came and told us she was done. She was nice enough. Going back into the room, we checked the sheets and towels and found them to be clean. The carpet was disgusting and felt like it. Under the bed were cigarette butts, empty bottles, and other garbage. We were so tired, we stayed. Oh, and their 'parking lot' was totally sketchy -- a little uneven area behind the building and opening to another street. There was an overflowing dumpster and bags of garbage all over as well as garbage blowing around. We were nervous to leave the car there. Would have liked a full refund for this visit.
The beds were nice, but even though the sheets smelled clean, there were blood stains on them.
The towels were stained and tiny, the floor was disgustingly dirty, the exterior door lock was broken and the hallway was gross... let's just say, the picture is very deceiving.
Property misrepresented, pictures on website must be 25 years old. Very old and rundown

Disliked: Cleanliness
There was a restaurant and bar onsite which was great. Overall the property is outdated, smells like cigarette smoke and in need of a renovation or at least new linens. The bed was comfortable and the price was low, but will be looking elsewhere for next stay in Parry sound
Disgusting!
I am a farm girl so I’m not afraid of a little dirt but this place should be condemned! Expedia you should be ashamed of the misrepresentation of this place. Extremely difficult to find as there is no signage. After phoning, was told to go to the back parking lot and come in the back door. The name of the hotel was absolutely nowhere and the broken down fence and overflowing dumpsters everywhere were the first clue that this was a really seedy place. The “back door” had a broken lock hanging off it and provided absolutely no security. Nothing could have prepared me for the filth in the hallways. Not only old and worn but absolutely filthy. Dirt on the floor, in the stairwell, filthy musty carpets. After stumbling through dingy hallways I found the bar. When I asked where the check in was they said, oh just here. Was expecting the drunks and prostitutes to come knocking. Absolutely horrid experience.
The way they treated two ladies, my daughter and I, should account for a civil lawsuit. We came in a little bit before 8 PM for check-in and couldn’t find an entrance to the hotel front desk. We called and called for 10 minutes and no one picked up the phone. The Brunswick Sports Bar was locked. The reservation said “Brunswick Hotel” - which does not exist. We drove around the back to find a Knights Inn in the back with a dark and a dingy entrance in front of a dumpster, in the same complex and figured this was the hotel. The name and pictures on the reservation totally lied.Entered very scared to find no one in the hallway. It looked like a haunted space that reeked of alcohol and cigarettes. Finally saw a man who looked drunk. We asked him about the front desk and he said everything was locked because it was after 8 pm. (The reservation said checkin was before 11 pm)He said he was the cousin of the lady at the front desk and tried to call her. She refused to come and let us in. Then a man who worked in the kitchen showed up and said he had the master key and can let us in the room but can’t give us the key to it. Which meant we couldn’t go out - even to our car to get luggage and can’t leave the room to get dinner and stay locked in.There was not another soul in that dark dingy hallway and any of the rooms. No security, nobody manning the front desk - my 10 year old was shaking in fear. We ran back to our car before he locked us in one of the rooms which he offered.
