You can’t come to the ashram without spending an evening at the Ganga Aarti. This vibrant cocktail of music and singing takes place on the edge of the river every day just after dark. After drumming and bell ringing the pilgrims light small oil lamps and place them onto the water. Watching the flickering lights floating through the blackened water into the night sky is a truly mystical sight.
Parmarth Niketan is located in the small community of Swarg Ashram on the eastern bank of the river. If you are looking to use the accommodation here it is worth booking in advance to ensure that there is space.Food is not included in the cost. The garden and other facilities are available to be used by all.
