Property had a resort type feel to it. Loved the rooms but unfortunately we were placed next to the laundry room which was loud in the morning. Loved the gym and my wife loved the spa. Many options for entertainment, and some options for dining. A little bit on the expensive side but overall worth it.
We got hit with a $50 “resort fee” for WiFi and local calling and use of the safe in the room after paying online. The room had spiders on the couch that made a web to the kitchen table. The guest bathroom’s toilet was leaking on the ground and we were heavily solicited for the timeshare they are trying to sell. After refusing to go to the timeshare meeting after we checked in we were also woken up the next day around 9:00am with an additional call to try to get us to attend. The lazy river and the pool/bar advertised online is in fact not included and costs an additional $20/person to gain access too. Country music was playing on high volume from the pool at all hours and could be heard from inside our room. Overall a pretty sub par experience and not worth $200 per night. The guy I met in the elevator had roaches in his room that he expressed after raging on the ice machine that wasn’t working. Parking was impossible to find after 10pm so we had to park in the parking garage a few blocks from our building and walk. (In the cold rain, which wasn’t their fault) there were golf car shuttles that picked family’s up from the garage to their buildings but they never stopped or asked to pick me up.
We have stayed here twice now, and both times were just fabulous. The staff is kind and helpful, and the rooms are clean as could be. We love the screened in patios and how large the rooms are. Planning another trip to Orlando next month and will absolutely stay here again.
The stay was great but my slight dissatisfaction is with Hotels.com. The website said nothing about a resort fee so my stay was an additional $50. But it was a nice place and still worth the money, it would just be nice to know especially if you are traveling on a budget.
This hotel comes across on Expedia as a great rate hotel but once you arrive you are hit with fees for the resort that are excessive. There is no room cleaning during a week's stay, the toilets were broken and even after they said they fixed it the flushing was doubtful. On checkout day the elevator was broken so I got to pack a 50 pound suitcase down from the fourth floor. I came to the front desk where three guys acted like they didn't want to be bothered by me and when I explained the elevator wasn't working they acted like they didn't care. I'll be sure to avoid this place on future trips to Orlando and probably any other Westgate Resort property and I'd advise everyone else to as well.
