"Location is perfect for anyone cycling Shimanami Kaido. Right next to the bike rentals, ferry terminal (where you begin the ride) and Onomichi Station. Rooms were a little dated but it didn’t bother me. A great crash pad after a long day of cycling."

"What an amazing way of making the Shimanimi Kaido Route more enjoyable. Don’t ever doubt it and split your route in two days just to enjoy the place. Amazing rooms (it looks great in photos but the rooms are even better once you are there), BEAUTIFUL facilities and onsen with carefully curated design and really helpful staff."

"This is an older property in Onomichi. Onomichi is a port town and the hotel sort of smelled musty to me. The best part of the hotel was the staff. Very nice people working there with some English ability."

"When is a resort not a resort? In this case, when it doesn't provide any facilities outside the room. There's a rooftop bar in summer but nothing at other times. Staff were pleasant but breakfast was limited and when we asked for a second cup of coffee we had to pay for it. The room is large but was taken up by 4 double futons and a massive hanging screen for projecting TV/video. We felt it was intended for a large group who wanted to watch DVDs all day. The cost would have been fine split 8 ways if all beds were full but for us as a couple it was pretty extortionate. Also, no fault of the hotel, but out of season the town is dead in the evenings and only half alive during the day. We booked and paid for 4 nights but left after 2 on the grounds that it's only money and life is too short...."

"It was fantastic to stay in such a beautiful old home. The rokms are bright in the moring due to not having blinds, but i assume that is in keeping with the historic nafire of the house. It is still well worth staying in this place!"
