Rather like taking a Ryokan experience and superimposing a luxury spa. We did not even manage to get our bags into the entry without having a young attendant in kimono insist upon her loading them into a luggage cart and bringing them inside for us. Staff had very little English but made every effort to make our sign-in seamless. We had a traditional tatami room, which was more like a small house in scale. The onsen experience was delightful. Breakfast and dinners we took in the Japanese restaurant, all top quality. We were the only non-Japanese guests (at least, we never saw any others). Our room had traditional floor seating but also a sitting area next to the balcony with regular chairs/table, lovely view and very quiet (at least until the buses started their motors in the morning).

"Great value. They were able to accommodate my food allergy for breakfast in the morning, and were very kind to us. Hotel has a smoking room, washer and dryer, and a beer vending machine. What more could you ask for? We had a great experience. Well-kept hotel, great amenities."
