"Property is tucked away, they probably should add some better signage. Security you go thru does direct you well though and love that they are checking people. It’s a gorgeous area with walking trails and cute little village to go walk, shop and eat at that you MUST go to! Def go to the Marina as well. We just loved the room, walkable areas, wonderful staff and stay overall. Ohhh and did I mention the free laundry rooms, arcade and theatre on site?! The list goes on and on. STAY here especially...

"I came to Destin for my daughter’s 1st birthday celebration. Let me start off by saying my main purpose and goal was the ocean…and this unit did not disappoint. The pictures are dull compared to how beautiful it is when you walk onto the balcony. We could watch the sun set from the balcony. This rental had everything we needed except washer and dryer which was my mistake - I didn’t realize the one bedrooms do not have washer and dryers. We had issues in the beginning with the dishwasher and air...

"This particular room is on the third floor and was ok, sound wise until the last part when the Harley-Davidson riders rolled into town. Apparently they just drive back and forth gunning their throttles all night long. That is when the room lost all of its charm and good vibes. It's just too close to the road and the bridges and thus the motorcycle noise was amplified to unacceptable levels."

"Property was nice, clean, and well maintained. It did not have heat, which is only an issue during a couple months out of the year, but the campgrounds were quiet and the staff and other residents were polite and welcoming. Will be returning."

"This is our favorite place to stay when we visit Sandestin. Close to the beach and dining, spacious rooms, and safety/quiet makes it the perfect place to relax! Even with construction going on, we had the perfect trip! "

"Everything was great till Tuesday the day before we had to leave! Two of the young guys that work at the cabana on the beach in front of building III and close to the volleyball net! Came down to the edge of the beach and decided to fish! They cast out their lines in the area we were swimming and hanging out. One of the fishing poles was directly in front of me! We let them know we were not happy and neither were some other people swimming in that area! I said it loud enough for them to hear me...

"The hotel staff was friendly and responsive. The room was comfortable and the water was always hot. The view from the balcony was beautiful. The outside pool was heated and surrounding outside area was spacious. The hotel restaurant needs a better menu. We got a hamburger and crab bisque. The burger was tiny, however the crab bisque was amazing. The restaurant service was great as well. Soundproofing between rooms needs improvement. A microwave in the room is a needed addition. "Oh my goodness, we love Hotel Effie. My husband are empty nesters, and have taken an after-Christmas break for two years now. The staff is so friendly and attentive, and we love the closeness to Baytowne Wharf. This year we had a couple’s massage that was perfect: deep tissue for him and hot stones for me. Again, the experience and facilities were great, with everything we needed for a hot shower, then off to breakfast! I feel pampered when we stay at Hotel Effie."
