Beautiful facilities and delicious dining. Was very enjoyable. I was, however, surprised to see/hear so many dogs in the York Building. For the most part, was OK, but some were barking for a long time Thursday, Friday morning. This was disruptive and unprofessional. In my opinion people traveling with pets should not book at public hotels so as not to annoy other guests.

Dirty Room
The bathroom was dirty. Hair on the floor, in the sink, tub and toilet. Also feces in the toilet. Stains on carpet, couch and walls. I think the bed linings were the only clean part of the room.

There was no electrical outlet in the bathroom....just at the separate sink, where one is used for the mirror. Our entry door was so jammed, we had to "kick" the door in to get into our room

Upon arriving and checking in there was loud saws and machinery in the lobby !! Horrible . The lady at front desk check I. Said she was knew and it appear she did not know what to do ! She took forever all the while the loud saws were running . Then in the middle of checking us in said she had to take care of something emergent ! Meanwhile another couple arrived to check in behind us . The female attendant gave us wrong directions to our room, said she needed a credit card to hold $25 day to hold money and never did that - so l then called us to ask us to come back to do that ! What a mess ! All so unprofessional! That night when we came back from visiting family we couldn’t find our room and when after awhile my husband did find the room, the door wouldn’t open !!!!! We had to go back to the front check in desk — there we were told we’d have to hit the door with our full weight shoulder first to force door open because they were sticking from the humidity! What the ???? Virginia Beach has been humid all summer into and through September ! They sent an “engineer over to fix door “ that night - we were exhausted from a day of travel and family and wanted to go to bed. The Engineer said he would come back in the morning to sand the door down. He never came in the morning or the whole day . When we left for morning we had to kick the bottom of the inside door to get it to open and ram it with our shoulders to get it to bridge and open when we came back !
