"A truly stunning 150 year old hotel with tonnes of original features. The owners were on hand the whole time keeping everything running smoothly. The view and location was a sight to behold - just breathtaking. If you want to sit quietly and read or swim, sauna or use the rowing boat it is all there for everyone. Would love to return some day for longer."

"Loved staying at this hotel, located directly overlooking the beautiful fijords. Very clean and very friendly and helpful staff. Dining was special with excellent menu options and presentation of food was beautiful as well as delicious. My favorite hotel on our one night stop over during our amazing car trip through the Norway fijords. Would highly recommend this property!!"

"The view, atmosphere created by the staff and hotel’s gentle grandeur was lovely, but our room was suoer hot (no air conditioning and a wall of south facing windows that only opened slightly) and the layout of the room was odd (likely due to limitations when upgrading the historic hotel). But overall it was lovely. "

Wonderful hotel!

"The Grand Hotel was one of my favorite hotels in Norway. The staff members were all friendly and welcoming. The facilities were clean and sufficient. The breakfast was wonderful, and I enjoyed a wide variety of hot and cold items. I am grateful for that! The hotel is very close to the train station and is located downtown, right beside the cable car. Everything is within walking distance, including a couple of food markets and a gas station. There is also a small gym in the hotel. I enjoyed the historical photos on each floor, telling the story of the hotel and its guests. I would absolutely stay here again!"
