We enjoyed our stay at the Jared Coffin house. A lovely continental breakfast was provided. We especially enjoyed the delicious, warm coffee cake. The location was convenient, a short walk to the ferry, restaurants, and shops. In the evening, warm cider was offered, a nice touch after being out on a chilly day! Staff was professional, though not especially friendly. We had a few issues with our room.. the shower was very slow to drain, our room overlooked the outdoor seating for The Tap Room and because the top half of large window would not stay up, it was quite loud until the music stopped and patrons cleared out after 10 PM. The double lock on the door was also not in working order. That being said, a few issues are expected with older buildings but some maintenance is in order.

This was a nice, affordable spot in Nantucket. Staff was friendly and helpful. It’s a central spot for walking anywhere in town. The morning breakfast was good. Walls are thin, so just be prepared to hear people coming and going, etc. Also, our shower was super tiny. It works, but might not be the easiest for bigger people.

It's a lovely property, great location for walking, catching a free bus or riding a bike. Have stayed before, this time I had a single room that was very clean but disappointing because of a very noisy bathroom fan and the only window was blocked by an air conditioner ( that was very noisy ) so I didn't use.

We last stayed at the Jared Coffin House in 1990, our last time on the Island. It is right in town, so shopping, restaurants, and activities are within walking distace or a short drive away. The Tap Room at the Inn serves delicious meals. The staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The Inn sent us a complimentary bottle of wine to our room for our 35th wedding anniversary. How wonderful is that? While the rooms are comfortable enough (nice beds), the rooms and especially the bathrooms could use some updating.

The history of this mansion was impressive. The room at the top of the 36 stairs was cozy. Great bed and nice size closet. As my husband and I are 70ish we needed a second chair to be able to both be seated other than one of us having to hop up on bed to sit for awhile. The turntable and albums taking up valuable space was charming but did not work as I tried to play the Marley album. Thank you for the continental breakfast which started us nicely for the day for 4 mornings. The staff was over and above fantastic, answered all our questions about how to tackle the sights and how to get there. We loved our September 2024 visit.
