"very cozy and unique characteristic hotel feels like you back in time, the staff are very warm, feels like a home away form home . However would update some of the rooms, a new coat of paint would do alot. the old style and charcter should remain, this is truley unique!! i will be back for sure and would recommend the place!"

"Clean, well priced co.fortable place, with the most gorgeous rooftop terrace for breakfast, which although not included, was filling and well-priced. I am staying there when I return to Kolkata!"

"Decent stay. Breakfast is not great but will do. You have to walk outside to get to the breakfast area so dont go out in your slippers, especially if its been raining. (when it rains, water collects in the outside area) Walls are on the thin side, so if you're a light sleeper, make sure you have ear plugs. Overall, its good enough given the price."

"Very clean, comfortable and noise free room. Check in was quick, staff friendly and helpful. Room service good and quick. One prep was too spicy but gave us free ice cream to make up for it. Check out quick. Overall would definitely recommend!"

The Oasis & Gem of Calcutta

"If you’re coming to Calcutta for pleasure to have long days of sight-seeing, eating, and walking for hours through this amazing dense city, the Taj will the perfect oasis to come back to I had a fantastic stay for 4 days and besides the beautiful rooms, restaurants, and lovely..endless breakfasts, it’s the staff and their care to ensure you have a wonderful stay as well as to help you get whatever you need and wherever you go.
