where to start? not only is this hotel ABANDONED, but apparently has been for months according to locals. even if it weren’t abandoned, from the outside, it looked very run down and not well taken care off. i’d choose zero if i could.

Old but very clean motel

Old motel but clean and comfortable. The manageress was very friendly and helpful and allowed us to check in early. Not much in the area but great for a stopover on way to the Black Hills.

The towels and bathroom were dirty, the tub didn't drain, the bedding smelled moldy, and there was no soap for the sink. It looked like someone had cleaned fish in the sink, and spattered the tiles with fish guts. The mattress was awful. I can go on, but at least the heat works.

The Dakota Lodge was perfect for our quick overnight on the trip to see Badlands and other SD areas. While the property is older, it was very clean, and the staff was very helpful with our late check in. I’d definitely stay here again for a clean an affordable place to lay my head in between destinations. The restaurant next door was a wonderful option for a delicious and hearty breakfast before getting back on the road.
