We have stayed here several times because of the convenient location in Old Town. The price is good. The rooms are clean, beds are comfortable. I hate to be boring, but we keep coming back to this spot when traveling in and out of Munich.

Very good location, easy steps from Marienplatz, shopping, many restaurant options.. accommodations clean, well maintained and staffed 24 hours a day. Right outside of the viktualmarkt (so). Very safe.. only complaint is we were on the 4th floor (3rd by European count) and street noise (alleyway) was excessive even with closed windows. It was very much a good value and we would definitely use them again.

The hotel's location is undoubtedly its strongest selling point – it's within walking distance to many popular attractions, restaurants, and shops. The room was clean and comfortable, with all the basic amenities you'd expect.

Hotel Am Markt is a simple and well designed hotel. The rooms are very large and well appointed for Europe. Our room was on the first floor facing a street, but it was still very quiet. Comfy bed, nice shower, lots of storage...everything you need from a hotel room. The location near Marienplatz and lots of shopping and dining options was perfect. And breakfast in the morning was delightful as well.

The hotel was quaint, clean and in a great location. The front desk staff was rude and not helpful. He waved his hands at me in impatience when I had trouble opening the door. My leg was in a walking boot and he didn’t even get up to help me get in. Then later that day the elevator broke and my room was on the third floor. He never apologized for the inconvenience. Because of his attitude I would not recommend this hotel.

The location is great, a few minutes walk to Marienplatz, but with that comes street noise. Also, inside the hotel, one can always hear clanking, banging, water through pipes, etc, from other people and the buildings internal machinery (we were right next to the elevator) which made it a little hard to sleep. The front desk staff, in general, was pretty grumpy and unfriendly. One even yelled at another guest for pushing the wrong button on the elevator.

Very comfortable and quiet place to stay right in central Munich! Five minute walk from Marienplatz and a train station which makes getting around so easy! Plenty of shops and restaurants nearby and the staff were so friendly and hospitable!
