"This hotel is a hidden gem. It is quaint and charming, and actually delivers a unique experience to customers. It is only 15 mins out of Wanaka and you could drive past without noticing it. We stayed in the Captain's room hidden behind the hotel in a lovely garden area. The room was little but very cosy and beautifully quirky with little thoughtful touches. We indulged in the hot tub before our delicious dinner and enjoyed the view of the mountain peaks. Having stayed in other top rated hotels...

"Hidden gem on the lake with walking track and shops cafes and restaurants close by. Facilities were also great with spas, bikes available if needed. The hotel restaurant was really good with a great selection of wines and meals. Would recommend a longer stay than 1 night...could have stayed a week."

"Greeted by a bubbly, friendly host who shared her excellent knowledge of things to do. After a quick chat we had the afternoon, next day and food sorted. Good size room with 2 separate areas - bedroom/living area and kitchen and bathroom. For us, pillows too flat, prefer fresh milk and separate hair conditioner. Overall a very good stay. "

"The suites are very well appointed and very comfortable. The kitchen was well set up and washroom was beautiful. On one of the nights we were there, there was a planned power outage. This was not communicated to the guests and their back-up generator was not utilized which left us unable to sleep without power to our C-Pap from 1am-5am"
