We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Place d’Armes, from check in to check out. On arrival we were upgraded to an Executive Suite. The staff were very courteous, attentive and friendly. The concierge staff were especially helpful. We enjoyed the restaurant, Brasserie 701 for many delicious meals. The hotel was well located in Old Montreal, adjacent to the Notre Dame Cathedral. We can highly recommend a stay at Place d’Armes. Bienvenue!

Tough stay - We arrived Thursday evening at 5:00 PM, Valet park did not try to help with parking or luggage, no mention of Expedia's VIP status or room upgrade upon check-in. We checked into a room on the 7th floor, the room was FREEZING, we turned the heat on but it would not kick in. We called the front desk and after 20 minutes maintainance arrived, 'fixed' the problem and let us know 'heat will kick in shortly'. Another hour passed and the HVAC still did not work, two more calls and a visit to the front desk before they finally decided to move us to a different room 3201, Room 3201 was, you guessed it, freezing as well. And for the next 3 days we tried to get this resolved with the front desk half a dozen times with no success. On our last night there, at 5:30 PM, a kid stopped by and gave us a printed apology for our 'issues with the HVAC' and a coupon for a treatment at the SPA - impossible to use since it was late on our last day and we checked out early the next morning. Overall, cold miserable experience for three days in Montreal, there are so many GREAT hotels so this was VERY disappointing, What can we say that is nice? Great location, nice common areas although the gym is less than great.

Great location in old Montreal, the hotel was very clean, beds comfortable and the staff went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed. The discount at the spa was also a nice perk and the spa service was excellent.

This hotel is perfectly situated across from the landmark Notre Dame Basilica and steps from the old quarter. Our room was huge - we loved the space, our bedding, the recessed lighting, and the Le Labo Santal 33 bath amenities. We also appreciated the hassle-free late checkout. Dinner onsite at Kyo was wonderful. We will definitely be back!
