We stayed in this hotel for a few nights and the rooms were not very clean, the sheets had stains on them and main duffet cover smelt really damp. The hotel is in a good location near the old part of town and there are some restaurants nearby. The staff are friendly but don´t speak any Engligh.

Great Stay Close to Everything
Even with a flooded bathroom the first night (I was quickly moved to a nearby room), this is still a great place to stay very close to everything in Montevideo. The hotel staff is so very friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean (with a fridge to store snacks, breakfast stuff in), wifi works well throughout the hotel, AC/heat in the room.

Ice Cold Room. I Will Not Return Here.
Inexpensive hotel within walking distance of the old city, and only a few blocks from the Rambla. Pleasant interior, and the rooms were clean. I was assured my room had an in-room safe. It did not. Some staffers speak some English. No heat in my room; the A/C just blew cold air. Since this is winter, I froze my butt off even though I slept fully clothed with a hooded sweater! This was a HUGE negative for me, and I would never go back to this hotel. However, if you are booking in January rather than June, you won't want a hot room; you'll want a cool one, and this should work out fine. If you do book in winter, and speak Spanish, I recommend you call the hotel directly and get a firm money-back guarantee that your room will have heat.

Great little find
Nice little find, 4 blocks form the main street of Montevideo. Handy location close to restaurants, supermarkets and the city centre/old town/Port/Rambla. Valeria speaks excellent English. Wifi good, rooms clean, cable TV, Aircon.

Faux Pas...
We arrived at this hotel late at night only to find out they had no confirmation from my booking w/Hotels .com. Had to wait quite awhile only to find out they were full. i read the confirmation number to the reception desk clerk, that I had received via email from Hotels.com, but she did not have it. We ende up going to another hotel very, vey tiny rooms....

Great service and a comfortable room.
The room was very comfortable and the staff were very helpful. The hotel was a little noisy during our stay due to renovations. The location was fine, but we found Montevideo a little underwhelming generally. We would recommend this hotel if you are determined to go there, though.

Great budget hotel to explore Montevideo
We stayed at this hotel for two nights in October, and we loved it! It's a budget hotel with no elevator. We were on the top floor but had no problems navigating through it. We arrived late at night and the owner received us with a detailed description of the city and recommendations for our day there. Staff was very nice throughout our stay. Room was nice, with heavy wooden blinds and also curtains so the room was perfect for a good rest without light during the early morning; wi-fi was reasonably fast. Room was large enough for two people, bed was comfortable and the bathroom was very clean. Neighborhood is kinda lonely at night, but never felt unsafe. Walking distance from the "rambla" and from a couple of main avenues in Montevideo. There is a great neighborhood restaurant a couple of blocks from the hotel, ask the staff for it! I highly recommend this hotel; just remember it is a two star hotel and you will have a great time.

Nice refurbished hotel.
A very nice, small hotel, with a great location. Several good retaurants and the main shopping street in walking distance. I have stayed here 10 days, and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. Air conditioning, heating and internet. A very good valu for money.

Simple, affordable a few blocks from downtow
It's a simple, clean place to spend the night. No luxury, no safe box, nor shampoo or water in the room. Just a place to crash and carry on next day.

Older hotel recently renovated - great value good
This is an older hotel that is family run and has obvious new updates from paint, furniture, light switches, lamps, etc. The location is good. It is about a 4 block walk to the main commercial area with restaurants and stores. The building and rooms are well maintained. It is an older building but it is nicely maintained and a great value. I would stay there again.

A localização do hotel é bem no centro, e por mais que não tenha estacionamento sempre foi fácil de achar vaga na rua bem perto. Mas encontrei muitos problemas: apenas 2 funcionárias (atenciosas) que se viram em 20 pra fazer tudo (desde checkin, checkout, limpeza dos quartos), a velocidade do Wi-Fi é muito ruim (em alguns quartos nem leva), e o cheiro do banheiro do quarto que fiquei com meu marido era insuportável, cheiro de esgoto mesmo.

Ficamos neste hotel durante o carnaval e não tivemos nenhum problema. O quarto era bem limpo. Os atendentes bem atenciosos e nos nos explicaram com um mapa tudo que poderia ser feito pela cidade. Não possui café da manhã ou refeições, mas disponibiliza uma cozinha comunitária para os hóspedes. Não possui estacionamento. Não possui elevador. Bem localizado na cidade velha, em uma região tranquila, o que possibilita ir caminhando até as principais atrações da cidade. Achamos que o preço estava em conta. Dica: Há um supermercado grande na mesma rua do hotel no quarteirão vizinho.

Melhor chamar de hostel
O hotel deveria ser chamado "hostel", assim evitaria qualquer decepção. Serviços mínimos (para não dizer inexistentes). Bairro decadente sem opções para comer e fazer compras. Preço baixo é bom, mas no final você fica arrependido de não ter investido melhor na hospedagem.
