Nice hotel, but parking is not convenient, house keeping even forgot to clean our room or day

I stayed two nights at the Mayfair Hotel in Adelaide in late January, and overall, my experience was mostly positive. The location is fantastic, right at the top of Rundle Mall, and a short walk or free tram ride to Adelaide Central Market. The Luxury King Room was comfortable with a lovely bed and a great bath. I stayed on a high floor in a quiet corner, keeping street noise to a minimum. I did hear frequent door slamming and other noise from within the hotel which may just be the heritage nature of the building. The cleanliness of the room was concerning, with noticeable stains on the carpets and curtains – disappointing for a hotel of this standard. The lighting was poor, and housekeeping didn't open the blinds or turn on the lamps, leaving the room dim and possibly missing some of the cleaning. Additionally, the power for the in-room tablet used to make requests had been turned off so I arrived at the room and was unable to use it. I also had Wi-Fi connectivity issues in my room and had to rely on mobile data. The staff were mostly helpful. I requested a free newspaper, which wasn't delivered until I followed up on my last night highlighting a lack of communication. Additionally, my early check-in request through Expedia wasn't received, resulting in a four-hour wait. I recommend contacting the hotel directly for special requests! Despite these inconveniences, I enjoyed my stay. With a few improvements, this hotel could easily be top-tier.

Arrived very late but check-in was pre-arranged and went smoothly due to the efforts of the day manager who was outztanding. At midnight the restaurant was long closed but there is a 24 hour Hungry Jack right down the street, so we survived until morning. Great breakfast in the hotel. Watched the Super Bowl in the lounge and complimentary snacks were served.

The suite was impressively large with comfy kingsize bed and outside noise was barely audible. Quite luxurious!!
