"It's always a pleasure to stay at Royal DeCameron. Security, a variety of dining options, family friendly, etc. However, if you have a light sleep, it'd be a little hard since there's music until about 2 am (at the disco) and people start working very early. Thus, if they'd invest in room isolation, that would be great. Moreover, I don't recommend leaving your valuables without security. Use the safe or carry your lock if you don't want to have a bitter experience. "

"We checked out after one sleepless night. Our room was so loud inside it felt like we were in a nightclub, but worse, because it was a mixture of 3-4 nearby clubs and bars music. The hostel itself hadn’t even started any live music yet when we arrived. I don’t know how the Hostel can actually charge money for this room, let alone nearly 100 dollars. "Balsa Surf Camp is like staying with family! It has a wonderful atmosphere, and the location is nice and quiet within a very easy walk to town. For a surfing adventure, everything is at your fingertips and the team are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed the daily yoga, thank you to the wonderful instructor Darcy Lynch. I will visit Montanita again, and I wouldn't think of staying anywhere other than Balsa. "

"The location was great, walking distance to main downtown area but far enough to have some peace. The rooms were comfortable although i think a bit overpriced for what you get and compared to other places. I have very little problems with hotels except when they advertise AC and you pay a little bit of a premium in south america to have a room with an AC versus a room with a fan. "Not a great spot, but the rooms are nice, they have an additional screen door to help keep mosquitoes out of the hallway where the doors to the rooms are. I didn’t use the shared kitchen & it seemed like the free coffee was just the instant kind. Good for the price, the parking is on the street & I was told to pull half my car up onto the curb, so not ideal, but could’ve been worse. Music from nearby bars & clubs goes a little harder & later into the night than I would like."

"The rooms were infested with water bugs. The beds had them! It was horrifying. Once we informed the staff they stated they were unable to do anything about it. We ended up having to switch hotels as every single room had millions of water bugs. "
