Have stayed in a number of Mons hotels whilst i vacated my apartment in the town. This included 2 stays at the van der valk during October 2024. This time in room 103 for a week, nice big clean room, shower only. Very convenient for getting to my apartment and into the centre of town. Didn't use parking or breakfast. IKEA is 10 mins walk away and do a hot breakfast for a few euros. Also 10 mins walk to cafes etc. Van der Valk is easily best hotel in Mons, happy to recommend

I'm moving out of my apartment in Mons so stayed in the Van der Valk for a couple of nights, we could only book a business suite, room 426. Very nice large room, jacuzzi bath and a balcony with good views of mons city. We had a couple of drinks in the hotel bar but dined at the ikea in grand pres lol Local knowledge saves money! The centre of town is across the railway line and up the hill. Will be easier to access once the new station opens. Overall i'd recommend the Van der Valk as best hotel in Mons

Perfect hotel. Very close ( 10 minutes walk) to the centre of Mons. Amazing service from reception staff. Room was ultra clean and a very comfy bed . Certainly recommend and a good price.

Falls short of what’s advertised
We arrived in the hotel room without all the amenities, only enough towels for one person. The shampoo bottles were empty. Only it is advertised that there’s a shuttle service to the airport from the hotel. What they don’t advertise is that it’s paid only and not affiliated with the hotel. To go in the pool it costs money. Everything costs something to do. Feels very cheap and not elegant even though the hotel is advertised as high class. Service was the savior. But they were not helpful on things to do in the area, much like most concierge services are. Honestly disappointed, I wanted to like it but it falls below expectations.

June 2024 for a total of 10 nights. Hotel was clean. The only issue with the housekeepers that each time they cleaned the room they would forget to put back some items: i.e. water and coffee, plastic cups, soap, or and sugar. The other issue was the parking in the garage. Sometimes there was no parking available (this was a part of the room charge). I went to the front desk to ask about this and asked to speak to a manager whose name is Neil W. His response was “first come first served” there is no distinction for parking whether it is a hotel quest, a restaurant only guest etc. He never asked for my name or room number and did not apologize for this. What I do not understand is that the staff takes up a good amount of parking spaces in the garage as well. They put champagne in the room but did not put the price - was told to call the front desk for that information.

Really nice new hotel, perfect location for Mons and if you have a car Pairi Daiza. Very nice new rooms and all the staff were lovely. Only downside was that the toilet is in its own separate room with no sink meaning you had to go to another room to wash your hands. But besides this quirk a great stay.
