"Ten-ippou hut was spacious, clean, and beautiful. Though we only stayed a night, it is well-eppuippdd for long stays, given you pick up groceries prior to arriving. Acessibility to the general area is a bit of a challenge. The kitchen has all necessities plus more. The bath is good-sized with all toiletry basics, laundry space with separate toilet/bidet. "This is a very unique house in a beautiful location. Fantastic views out over the Iya valley. The house has beautiful wooden floorboards and a thatch and bamboo roof and has modern heating kitchen and bathroom facilities."

"This was one of my ultimate Onsen destination for a long time. I read an article about this place being one of the top 5 go-to-onsen not only for Japanese and Onsen lovers all over the world as you need to operate cable car down to the below Iya Valley to enjoy outside onsen with spectacular views. I enjoyed both male and female side in 2 days and I was simply overwhelmed by the scenery. "We stayed at Awaikeda ekimae-shop as we planned to do rafting at beautiful Yoshino river. We stayed at Awaikeda honmachi which is a private house but ekimae-shop has 5 rooms and toilet and showers are all shared. The place is basic but clean. We were 6 of us, sleeping on futon on tatami floor in one room. Am glad that our children experienced a proper Japanese sleeping style!"
