"I am a visitor from Germany and don’t know Cardiff. This place was very clean and nicely fitted out/decorated, with some nice modern touches which lifted the place above the average and made it feel more cheerful :-) Everything I needed was there. I felt comfortable and safe. Great location with bus stop outside the door and very close to city centre and train station. "Very spacious two bed two bath apartment on the top floor. Kitchen was well equipped for making breakfast and easy dinner. Check in was made easy by staff Great location. A 15 minute walk to the Castle and a little longer to the train station. Great value for the price. "

"My partner had a good stay in that were close to the city and had all the facilities that we needed. The downside was that we had paid for a permit to park in the car park. However, we were not given the permit on arrival. We called and were told someone would be in touch and drop it off the following day. No one was in touch. It wasn’t nice worrying whether we were going to get a parking ticket during our two day stay. Luckily this wasn’t the case. "

"We had a long weekend in Starling cottage. It was peaceful, quaint, comfortable and clean. It was a good base to explore the local area and visit our friends in Neath. I would definitely return. "

Top quality in a top location

"Receptionist was very friendly on check in. Room was clean and spacious with a lovely view. Bed was comfy, shower was hot though being tall the rainfall shower head was a bit low. Slept very well despite a party going on downstairs. Breakfast was good quality, with plenty of choice, though they did run out of some of the hot food and there was a bit of a wait to refill. Pool area was nice, plenty of room and multiple wellness facilities (sauna, jacuzzi, hydrotherapy), though could do with more chairs/places to leave towels and robes."

"It was absolutely wonderful- very clean and welcoming and the bed was really comfortable. Also the scent of the toiletries was beautiful. The only issue was that when I phoned about where to park, I was put through to a central office and not the hotel - so although I was told the right car park, I paid upfront online, as I was not told about the hotel code that essentially made it half price. Not the hotel’s fault just the central call office 😊"
