"The area of town seemed a little sketchy. The apartment building is definitely older. Our apartment was clean but had a really strong floral scent which was horrible for someone with scent sensitivities. The bed was saggy and tge pillows were really flat. Some of the dishes were chipped. Ok for one night but would not stay again."

"I spent 3 nights in the Surf Room & I cannot recommend it highly enough. This guesthouse is a haven especially after sightseeing all day. The room is spacious, clean, comfortable, quiet & nicely decorated. Windows open to the garden courtyard so it was quiet & nice view. Kettle, fridge & TV is always great when travelling solo. "What made this exceptional was the concierge, Arthur. He was A on everything. We felt very well received and cared for upon our arrival into the heart of old downtown Verona. The property was in an incredible area; loads of places to eat between cafes and restaurants, shopping of all kinds surrounding, easy short walks to any of the local sightseeing. The employees were extremely friendly and helpful, the communication before checkin was extremely helpful and they offered us early check in for no fee when we got there early and tired from our long train ride there. "Perfect location, so close to the open theatre, restaurants and shops. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was ready for us even though we arrived in the morning. Our room was small but the bed was comfortable and it was handy having bedside tables that charge your phone wireless. The bathroom was a little tired but shower was powerful and we had a balcony with a view of the theatre. We loved the rooftop bar, even if the drinks were a little pricey. The complimentary appetisers were delicious though. Breakfast was delicious. We would definitely stay here again! The only suggestion I’d have is, it would be nice if the hotel celebrated special occasions with something complimentary in the room like a bottle of wine or chocolates. They knew it was for a special occasion but they only offered for us to pay for balloons, flowers or wine. It would have just made it extra special."
